L'Arche Philippines builds inclusive communities where people with and without intellectual disabilities live, work, and grow together.
Punla, meaning "Seed" in Filipino, represents our mission to encourage each member, without and with intellectual disabilities, to develop their own unique gifts. L'Arche Philippines was established in 1988 in Cainta, Rizal, as part of the international L'Arche movement founded by Jean Vanier.
"I believe that those we most often exclude from the normal life of society, people with disabilities, have profound lessons to teach us. When we do include them, they add richly to our lives and add immensely to our world."
L'Arche Philippines operates as both a home for intellectually disabled residents, whom we honor as "core members," and as a daycare center for developmentally disabled children in the Cainta area.
